HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS CONT ED COURSE - GLITCH WITH THE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
Some providers report a glitch retrieving the verification certificate once they complete the continuing education course. Our contractor has been working on this glitch. In the meantime, you should be able to retrieve the certificate of completion by 1) selecting the table of contents on the left side menu; 2) clicking on one of the parts (e.g. Part 1..., Part 2..., etc.); and 3) clicking on the link that should show up within a paragraph that says you completed the course. If you still have problems retrieving the certificate, our office may be able to help.
Keep in mind, pursuant to 19 Del.C. §2322D(a)(2)(c), providers certified in the DE Workers' Compensation Health Care Payment System (HCPS) agree to complete "State-approved continuing education courses in workers' compensation care every 2 years." If you completed the 2012 course and haven't already checked, I recommend you (or someone in your office) wait a little over a week and then check the published certified provider list at http://dia.delawareworks.com/workers-comp/hcps/provider-certification.php to make sure your provider listing contains a current completion date. Many providers originally certified in the HCPS at its May 2008 inception will soon reach the second 2-year window and must fulfill this requirement again in 2012. You will find a link to the continuing ed course at the same web page link I gave earlier in this post.
If you have any additional questions or comments concerning this posting, call (302-761-8200) or e-mail (hcpaymentquestions@state.de.us) the Delaware Office of Workers' Compensation, Medical Component.
